Last week my sister and I, had a great experience at a wonderful Bristol restaurant called “The Burger Joint”. There are three restaurants of this chain in Bristol; in Clifton, Bedminster and Fishponds. The one that we dined at was the Bedminster branch. We arrived there after a lovely walk through Southville and along the Harbourside, during which we admired blooming trees and beautiful neighbourhoods. We even got to meet a couple of cute cats that kept us entertained on our way.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed by very friendly staff. We were given a table next to the window, which of course for food blogger is perfect (we need natural light for beautiful photography!). The restaurant was well lit, bright and the atmosphere was wonderful. Most tables were full and the customers were mainly either groups of friends or families.
The menu included so many options to choose from. They serve burgers, scrummy sides, some salads and interesting drinks. Since it’s a burger place, the options of burgers that one can have at “The Burger Joint” are unlimited, as you can build your own burger. Building your own burger is done by following 5 easy steps. First, choose your starter or a light bite from more that 10 options, which vary from nachos to marinated lamb skewer, cheesy garlic bread to BBQ chicken wings. Then choose your bun (or you can go for a no-bun if you like), and the patty (including 1 side and 2 sauces).
The variety of burgers is huge. More than 10 types of burgers are available, including the veggie and a vegan option. The third step is choosing the toppings (such as cheddar, halloumi, chopped olives, pineapple slice and guacamole) so basically whatever you like to have inside your burger. The fourth step is choosing 2 sauces (basil mayo is awesome!), and finally choosing one side. Sides can be fries, chips, hash browns, onion rings, salads and green beans. Sounds overwhelming? Although it looks like a bit of a reading you need to do and lots of choosing, but it’s all made easy with the order paper provided with every menu. You can simply tick the boxes next to your choices and handle it to the friendly and attentive staff, who would happily take your order, answer any questions you may have, and suggest the best option for you and your taste. However, you can always choose from the combinations at the bottom of the menu. The burgers that we had were of excellent quality, the toppings were generous and the sides were perfect! We really enjoyed every bite of the burgers till the very last one.
I should not forget to mention that in addition to the wines, spirits, cocktails, beers & ciders, this restaurant offers amazing Hardshakes. I fell in love with the strawberry, amaretto & whipped cream that I asked for a second one after finishing the first till its last drop (yes I had 2 hardshakes – you can’t judge me!). The restaurant also has special offers, such as “weekly lunch deal”, “afternoon meal deal” and “student/NHS discount”.
In brief, our experience at the Burger Joint has been amazing, the food was tasty, the portions were filling and the service was excellent. I can say that this restaurant is now one of our new favourite burger restaurants in Bristol, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
